Arriving here on the scene at 19 she was the first to bring baile funk to Aotearoa. Bringing authentic Brazilian beats long before it started to trend, her event RIO FUNK has now been running for over 10 years. Influenced by hip-hop, afro beats, samba and latin music Marjorie will be bringing a sample of South American sounds. Expect flavour, swing, sweat and high energy. When she’s not behind the DJ booth, Marjorie is consciously hiring and collaborating within her agency, bridging the gap of inequality of queer/female/minorities within the NZ entertainment scene.
