STAYING AT SPLORE
The vast majority of our audience stays onsite in one of the many camping zones. Every festival ticket includes access to free camping, from general areas to family-friendly zones where the kids rule. When you arrive you can walk or shuttle to the free camping fields where you can pick any available spot. Need more? You can pay for a range of camping upgrades.
Bringing a car or camper-vehicle you'll need to get a parking pass or reserve a camper vehicle site.
A CASH-FREE FESTIVAL
Your AWOP wristband is your wallet for the weekend. You'll use it for all spending on site and each time you buy something, the amount is deducted from your wristband electronically. Unused funds can be refunded before you leave or electronically until the end of March. It's super-easy.
To preserve the pristine nature of our stunning location and help ensure that we can party here for many years to come, please check and respect these bottom lines.
Waahi Tapu Sites - PLEASE KEEP OFF
Tapapakanga Regional Park contains significant archaeological sites that are important records of history of the tangata whenua, Ngati Whanaunga and Ngati Paoa and are protected by law. Please respect these areas: they are clearly marked and are off limits to the Splore audience.
So we can all continue to frolic about in bare feet, please don’t bring any glass containers. If you need essential items just decant them before you come.
Tapapakanga Regional Park is designated smoke-free under Auckland Council Parks policy. We encourage you to respect this. Cigarettes will not sold onsite. There is absolutely no smoking inside tents and structures.
Bag and Vehicle checks
In line with our resource consent and liquor licence, our security teams will check vehicles and baggage upon entry and at certain access points during the festival. This is to prevent any banned items like BYO booze, glass, fireworks and weapons. We appreciate your patience and cooperation in this.
No BYO booze
The smuggling and consumption of BYO alcohol contravenes our resource consent and liquor licensing agreements. Because we want to stage the festival for many years to come, we take this very seriously.
Please leave your pets at home as bylaws ban any non-human pets in any shape or form on the park. Human party animals are welcome.
No Open Fire
All open fires, fire toys, pyrotechnics and fireworks are banned in accordance with Auckland Council Parks regulations. Contained gas BBQs are OK if used safely and well away from flammable materials.
No antisocial material.
This includes but is not limited to weapons and gang patches. Private generators and PAs.
RESPECT & WELLBEING
Discrimination on the basis of gender, race, sexual orientation or origin and any form of sexual harassment be it physical or verbal have ABSOLUTELY NO PLACE HERE!
We respect each other. Ifyou need assistance come speak to any member or our crew, security team, volunteer, bar staff, stage crew or vendor. There are safe spaces if you need to get away from it all, come to Camp Mum’s caravan in camp HQ or the old homestead down by the beach.
Fill you car with Friends
We're determined to minimise our impact on the environment by reducing the number of vehicles coming to Splore. A great way to do this is to get more peeps into fewer cars through carpooling and ride sharing.
We have created the Splore Carpool Club - Ride Sharing is Caring, on Facebook. This is the place to connect with other Splorers, fill up your car and hook up sweet rides. Remember vehicles with 3+ people will earn partial refund on their their parking pass.
