Unable to find anyone in New Zealand who could help her improve her skills she travelled to Sydney in 2007 to train with the amazing Bunny Hoopstar. Michelle returned to NZ with many more tricks up her sleeve and a resolve to introduce Kiwis to the joy and inspiration of hooping.
Michelle has extensive experience in the health and fitness field - she is the owner and principal instructor of Pilates Mind & Body in Newmarket, Auckland, and has previously been a personal trainer and aerobics instructor. Her years of experience teaching movement and technique mean that no matter what your current co-ordination or fitness level, Michelle can help you find your mind-body connection and release creativity and movement that you never knew you had - all using a Hula-Hoop!!!!!

Haumoana Taonga Puoro Wananga translated means the wind that blows over the sea traditional instruments workshop.
The tutors for this workshop have held these types of workshops around the country and abroad for nearly 18 years. They were both apart of the group known as Te Haumanu founded by the late Dr Hirini Melbourne who spent a life time of story telling composing waiata and most importantly the resurgent’s of Taonga Puoro (Traditional Maori Musical Instruments).
This workshop will not only teach you how to play the instruments but you will also learn how to make them and then take a koauau (flute) away with you.

Taiko is the Japanese drum, an instrument that embodies the spiritual essence and heartbeat of Japanese culture.
Our workshop will be learning the basics(how to hold bachi sticks, how to hit etc..) and learning a simple song called Taikobayashi.
