On stage Wellington-born Samoan King Kapisi, aka Bill Urale, is a Kiwi hip-hop legend. He was the first Polynesian hip-hop artist to receive the prestigious APRA Silver Scroll Award for Songwriter of the Year for his single Reverse Resistance in 1999.

He’s performed at nearly every major New Zealand music event and alongside The Black Eyed Peas, Janet Jackson and the Beastie Boys, to name just a few.
Earlier this year he added another notch to an already impressive touring CV with his first ever appearance at the legendary Glastonbury Festival in England.
