Getting to Splore

Tapapakanga Regional Park is located 72km south east of Auckland CBD. Once off the motorways roads are well sealed but are windy with sharp corners in some parts of the journey - so do drive carefully.

FROM AUCKLAND
Take motorway south and exit left at either Manukau or Manurewa and head direction Clevedon. At the Clevedon Roundabout, turn right on pacific coast highway and head direction Kawakawa Bay. At Kawakawa Bay, turn right at the diary and head direction Orere Point/ Kaiaua. After approx 11km, cross a bridge and via right at Orere Point intersection. Continue over the hill for approx 2km and watch for signs to Tapapapakanga Regional Park, turn left down Deerys Rd (gravel rd). You are here/there - Splore!

FROM THAMES/COROMANDEL
From Thames take SH25 North and turn right at Waitakaruru into Front Miranda Rd. Head North through Kaiaua and continue North through Waharau, continue on coastal Rd for approx another 11km, watch for signgage Tapapakanga Regional Park and turn right into Deerys Rd - you are here/there - Splore!

FROM MATAMATA/HAMILTON DIRECTION
Turn right off SH 2at Mangatangi Rd and head direction Kaiaua. Turn left into Kaiaua Rd and head to Kaiaua where you turn left into East Coast Bays Rd once at Kaiaua. Follow this coastal rd through Waharau village and approx another 11km, watch for signgage Tapapakanga Regional Park and turn right into Deerys Rd - you are here/there - Splore!

BUS TRANSPORT: We really want to encourage as many of you as possible to utilise the bus transport that we are providing for you. Travel in comfort, no traffic woes and help save the planet. We will be running bus transport from Auckland city on Fri 8 Feb leaving from Britomart and K Rd bus stop and one stop in Manukau City CBD. We will ensure the bus pick up from Britomart coincides with ferries from Waiheke Island and Devonport. There will be one pick up - one early afternoon 1pm .
