Goldenhorse is an accomplished 5-piece band from Auckland. Their music is a hybrid of a number of influences including Bjork, The Cranberries, Robbie Robertson and Burt Bacharach. Over a single weekend in 2005, 6000 movie maniacs competed
in 270 teams throughout New Zealand. Their challenge to make
a short movie in 48 hours; the only rules being the short must contain:-
A. a character: Bodil DeRezny, animal lover
B. a line of dialogue: “Please don’t do that”
C. a banana
Shorts could contain a red scarf for extra credit
At the start of the weekend the teams had no idea what genre they would
draw - horror, thriller, action, splatter. See how the Auckland finalists faired.

The Splore Art Trail is a main feature of the festival that will showcase emerging and established artists.

The festival site for Splore 2006 is Tapapakanga Regional Park, administered by Auckland Regional Council, Ngati Paoa and Ngati Whanaunga. Tapapakanga was chosen for its beautiful beach front, the foreshore is covered with rocks and driftwood. A short distance away is a fresh water lagoon, and grand old pohutakawa trees are found throughout the site. The site is steeped in both Maori and Pakeha history which is outlined in the brief.
Artworks and sculptures by 50 Artists will be deisplayed within the stunning park landscape from the 11th-19th February.
There are two distinct parts to the Splore Art Trail:
- SPLORE PUBLIC ART TRAIL: 11TH - 15TH FEB - 10AM - 8PM - FREE ENTRY TO PUBLIC
We invite you to come and visit Tapapakanga Regional Park to discover an outdoor exhibition of artworks in stone, wood, metal and other materials from a diverse group of NZ artists.
